Speed Up PC Boot with StartUp Delayer

StartUp DelayerOnce installed, many programs are loaded when your computer is booting. The problem starts, when these programs becomes too many and all of them try to start simultaneously, fighting for CPU cycles and disk access. For average computer it tends to take ages to load everything to the extent you can’t even move your mouse. One of common methods usually used by computer is by removing the the start up programs via Run.. > msconfig. This will effectively kill the startUp process of your choice but another issue arise. You may not want to kill the program, you just don’t want it to compromise your windows load time.

Wouldn’t it be great if we can somehow delay the loading process of these programs so that we don’t reach the bottleneck when our computers start to kick off? So here is another useful program you might want to put under your sleeves.

StartUp Delayer is a free software that will allow you to control the applications that starts in the same time when you power on your computer. This application, improves the time needed for geting access on your desktop due to fact that you can control the order for each program that wants to start. You can delay applications that are not so important or those who you won’t use them right away. You can specify the delay in seconds or in minutes by accessing the clean and intuitive program interface. StartUp Delayer is an effective program in order to cure Windows boot bottleneck problem. I know the name of this software doesn’t evoke thoughts of faster load but It will allow you to setup how many seconds after Windows has started, to load each application. It configures timed delays for each application that starts after Windows boots up. So in some ways it manages a better way of Windows load process by prioritizing the system processes and delaying the not-so-important programs.

So, by using StartUp Delayer, you can space out the start time for each application. The tweaking of the timing might be tricky though and needs multiple boots to fine tune the things just right. However there’s automatic mode so the feature should come handy.

P.S.

As a golden rule, make sure to avoid adding the same amount of time for each application that you want to delay. For example if you want to delay one program to 1 minute do no set the other ones to 1 minute. Set one program for 55 seconds, another one for 50 sec and so on. This program has been tested on Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista and it should work excellent on all versions. We have also tested this application for spyware, adware or any other form of malware or viruses and we have found it to be clean.

Remember, that this is a very small part of the instruments mentioned in 100 Ways to tweak your computer. You may consider to learn some other way of How to tweak your computer. Any comments, ideas and reviews are welcome.
